How to browse Facebook without appearing online.
Saw this interesting question and decided to answer it. You know how many times people like to snoop around on Facebook and look at photos which is also becoming a favorite pastime for people. So how does a person browse Facebook without appearing Online?Well the answer is when you login into Facebook you automatically appear online on chat. So the answer is simple turn off your visibility on chat.
How to browse Facebook without appearing online
And here is how to get it done.
1. Click on the Chat Icon that you usually use to chat with your friends.
2. It pops up with two options (Friends list | Options)
3. Click on Options
4. Choose "Go Offline".You're done, browse uninterrupted now.Update: With the new chat sidebar that Facebook has launched this is what you would need to do.

After you click on the cog or gear icon on top of your Facebook Chat window. You will need to choose 'Advanced Settings' and use on of the options. We recommend - Turn on chat for only a few friends. Here you can enter the name of only one or two friends and it should work. Please leave a comment below with what you think and any feedback you would like to give.

You will need to ensure there is no tick mark in front of 'Available to chat' to browse and use Facebook without appearing online.
Click on the cog icon
Click on 'Available to chat'
To browse without appearing online you will need to ensure there is no tick mark in front of 'Available to chat'.
