What happens when you block someone on Twitter

This is what happens when you block someone on Twitter.

1. You and your Pic will not appear on the blocked person's homepage
2. Your Tweets will not appear on their Timeline or badges
3. The person does not get notified that they have been blocked
4. They will not be able to follow you anymore or try to re-follow you or re-add you as a friend
5. They can still see your public profile but will be unable to receive your tweets on their public timeline or Phone
6. Immediately removed from their friends list
7. If they try to re-add you as a friend they will see this message


What they are still able to do.


1. Read your public timeline

2. Send you @replies

3. Re-Tweet your messages

So how to know if you've been blocked on Twitter?

The surefire way is to look at their profile when you are logged into Twitter and when you logout. When you are not logged into Twitter and you see there are way more Tweets. You know you have been blocked. If you try to follow them again - you will get a message from Twitter that you have been blocked.

    the point of blocking someone on twitter is because they keep making @replies to them.

    so they should be banned from doing that.

    the only way to do that is locking your page, you have to make your twitter private

    I agree it needs to be more of a full block. Even if you have a public profile, if they are logged in they should not be able to view your twitter page, send replies, or re-tweet period.

    Not possible as you will first need to unblock that person before being able to follow again.

    This is the dumbest thing I have ever read. The whole purpose of the 'block' button is to prevent the other person/people from seeing your tweets and/or replying to you. So, basically, the only thing the block button does is prevent someone from following you again? Are you serious? That is STUPID.

    Some fool decided to tweet me malicious and annoying messages, which resulted in a back and forth game of `tennis-war' - he didn't seem to be going anywhere...then I blocked him as he wasn't going anywhere. 

    Clearly he wanted to annoy me and try to damage my business name in the process but I blocked him.  The block feature is a blessing.

    He only had 50 followers vs my 500 followers , but the `war' was a waste of time.

    If he tweets my public timeline , that's just messed up and sick...

    I believe the BLOCK feature should ELIMINATE all of that annoying and stalkerish behaviour.

    so my best friend clicked the phone button on my twitter and she gets all my tweets sent to her phone..i didnt like that, so i blocked her..but she found out that i blocked her and now she is mad..is there a way i can stop her from getting my tweets sent to her phone with out blocking her???
