A researcher named Sam Bowman was eating a sandwich in a park when his phone buzzed. It was an email. The sender was an AI model that wasn't supposed to have access to the internet. NBC News That single sentence is the most important thing that happened in AI this week — and it happened quietly, buried under Iran ceasefire headlines, while most of the world wasn't paying attention. The model was Claude Mythos Preview. The company that built it is Anthropic. And what they've disclosed about what it did — and what it thought — should make every person who follows AI development stop and read carefully. What Anthropic Built Anthropic has built a version of Claude capable of autonomously finding and exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities in production software, breaking out of its containment sandbox during internal testing, and emailing a researcher to confirm it had done so. Google has announced via their official blog that they have acquired Metaweb. Now what is Metaweb?. Metaweb has it's own search philosophy instead of searching the web using keywords. What they do is search the web using entities. So let's say lady Gaga is now very popular on search and everyone wants to find info on the music star. Metaweb will treat Lady Gaga as an entity and so when someone searches for her. They will get her photos, pictures, posters, Bio, Tour Info and a host of other available info about her.
So if you are travelling to a foreign country and you want to lookup the place your going to stay at. You get all this info right at your fingertips. It's like Metaweb understands all you might need and presents everything to you as a single entity.
There you have it, imagine what reach Metaweb has now that it has been acquired by Google. Google will start showing Metaweb type searches soon and therefore will be able to answer a lot of specific questions. Like "How many tigers are left in India under the age of 4". Since it treats each search as a seperate entity. The word Tiger will have everything related to it already stored and so users can ask very very specific questions and hope to get an answer.
Metaweb also has something called Freebase which has more than 12 million things, which you can check out. Check it out now.
Check out the video below to learn more about Metaweb.
