2012 dying for an Internet Meme

Search as much as we may in 2012 there is no meme even appearing on the horizon to rival the great meme of 2011 - Planking. Wonderful people and pranksters on the net have truly tried to come up with a meme this year but to no avail. One of the best memes that has got at least a little bit of news if the Angelina Jolie right leg meme also know as the 'Legbomb meme'. This has Angelina and Brad Pitt coming to the Oscars and posing on the red carpet. Her right leg is seen through the thigh-high slit in her dress. Pics of the leg spread quickly across the internet like earlier memes which shows her legs appearing in all the weird places memes usually appear. The statue of liberty, the Vancouver riot kiss and pepper-spray cop just to name a few. Makes for a fun meme but does not really bring out the fun of past memes. The year 2012 so far has been parched and dry as far as internet memes are concerned. Internet users who love memes need to get their brains in overdrive to come up with something that kicks start this year and brings out a meme that is truly memorable. Until then we will need to hang-on and wait for a real meme to capture the attention of the internet masses.

Video: Madonna hates Hydrangeas Internet Meme

All started with a video which we have posted below. A Fan goes up to her and gives her a bunch of Hydrangeas  She accepts it gracefully but while putting the flowers away she says "I absolutely loath Hydrangeas, he obviously doesn't know that'. Damage control is now on but who will repair the feeling of all the Hydrangeas in the world. 

 Her publicist has this to say "She's entitled to like any flower she wants and she didn't want to hurt the feelings of the hydrangeas of the world. No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world, but she prefers different types of flowers. 

This has started a new Internet meme, with videos appearing on YouTube making fun of that statement. In the video below shot in old school style you see Madonna showing love on a bunch of Hydrangeas before suddenly stomping on them and saying. 'F*** you it's a free world and I like roses'.

Everyone who has seen the slides of the girl who quiet her job after her boss installed a snitch, to see how everyone at the office was spending their time. Will know by now that those slides have become an internet meme. If you haven't seen the HOPA Slideshow click here. Well the thing is that it was a Hoax created by a website called "The Chive". Thanks to Facebook which sent a million viewers after people started sharing the page using Facebook's like button. 457,153 have clicked the like button till now and this number is not going to stop growing for sometime. TechCrunch TV met up with Elise (Heroin) and theChive co-founder, John Resig to discuss the whole thing in detail. Genius ideas we must say from the chive. They really know how to create an internet meme.
